Overview

Situated at a height of 4150 mtrs, Darwa Top or Darwa Pass, is a gorge connecting the Ganga and Yamuna river valleys. Just 5 kms ahead of Dodital, Darwa Top is the highest point of the trek.  This points offers some of the best views of mesmerising mountain peaks like Swargarohini, Banderpunch, Draupadi ka Danda, Srikantha, Jaonli, and Deonli. 

 

Mostly covered with snow for most part of the year, the best time to visit Darwa Top is between May and October when the snow is less and one can take treks up to Yamunotri, Kantal, Dayara Bugyal, Bakaria Top and other trails.

 

The trek from Darwa Top starts at Sangam Chatti, a small village located 15 kms from Uttarkashi.  The trek route stretching 27 kms goes through beautiful oak, deodar and rhododendron forests, quaint villages and the Dodital Lake. 

 

Once you reach the top, enjoy some of the best views of the snow-clad mountains.  The trek also offers an opportunity for camping, experiencing traditional cuisine of Uttarakhand, Village Tourism, Bird watching, and Photography.
