Gita Bhawan is a sprawling complex located on the banks of the River Ganga, near the Ram Jhula.  With over 1000 rooms and a large number of halls, Gita Bhawan caters to devotees visiting Rishikesh on a pilgrimage to the city.  The Bhawan offers a free stay and offers meditation and discourses during the stay.

Gita Bhawan is one of the most ancient shrine complexes in Rishikesh.  The walls of the bhawan are adorned with writings from the well-known epics of Sri Bhagvad Gita and Ramayana.  The Bhawan has a meditation hall where devotees can offer prayers and an Ayurvedic Department which prepares medicines using herbs from the Himalayas and the water from the Ganga River.

The complex of Gita Bhawan also includes the Laxmi Narayan Temple,  Book Shop with books printed by the Gita Press, Cloth Store as well as space for a Satsang.

Food is offered to the devotees at a nominal price.  There is also a ferry boat service and bathing ghats within the complex  for devotees to take a holy dip.
