The Budher Caves are located 30 kms from Chakrata and a 3 km trek from the Budher Forest Rest House. This Rest House was constructed in 1868 and is run by the Uttarakhand Forest Department.
The Budher Caves are also known as Miola Caves, named after the German national, Miola, who discovered the caves. Near the Budher Caves, one can find the Miola Top or Tibba which is a meadow encircling an old Shiva Temple also known as the "Temple of Fairies". Located at a height of 2590 mtrs, this meadow provides a panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges.
