The Maya Devi Temple is  located in Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar. Goddess Maya is believed to be the incarnation of Goddess Shakti and is the presiding deity of the Maya Devi Temple.

BACKGROUND

According to legend, it is believed that the heart and navel of Goddess Sati fell at the site of the temple.

Haridwar was once known as Mayapuri after Goddess Maya.  Along with Chandi Devi and Mansa Devi, the Maya Devi Temple forms the Siddh Peets.

The inner shrine of the temple hosts the idols of Goddess Maya, Goddess Kali and Goddess Kamakhya. This temple is popular during Navratri and the Kumbh Mela.
