Located in the ONGC Headquarters in Dehradun, the Subir Raha Oil Museum is a hidden gem of the city. Dedicated to the petroleum industry, its history and the preservation of fossil fuels, this museum is dedicated to the Late Chairman and MD of ONGC Mr Subir Raha. The museum is very accessible, being just 3.5 kms from the Railway Station.

Inaugurated in August 2005, this small museum is located in Tel Museum which was earlier called the Patiala House since it belonged to the Maharaja of Patiala.

The museum offers an insight into the various stages of oil and gas processing. Spread over two floors and divided into different sections covering the history, the different types of crude oil and their qualities at different temperatures. Another section highlights the exploration and production of oil.

The final section details the transportation methods and the refining technology used in the petroleum industry. There is also an Audio Visual Room which takes you on the journey of ONGC and the oil industry in India.
